A migratory bird of prey, the fish-eating osprey (Pandion haliaetus) overwinters in West Africa. In 2025, a pair of ospreys hatched two chicks at NWT Ranworth Broad and Marshes, making them the first known ospreys to breed in East Anglia in hundreds of years. In 2026, we were able to install a camera by their nest and many people followed their progress and watched as they fledged another healthy chick.
